SMART-TRIAL 2021.2 is the second out of three smaller SMART-TRIAL releases to be rolled out in the spring of 2021. All will include several new features that will help you simplify and optimize your electronic data collection.
The most prominent features included in the 2021.2 release are:
a new feature for studies that include double blinding in randomization. Emergency unblinding allows specified study personnel to break the blind of an enrollment in case of emergencies.

Additionally, the action is always audit logged and a new Study Notification has been added to alert specific emails or external systems in case of an emergency unblinding taking place
In order to make automation as simple as possible, you can now include additional attributes in webhooks.
It is now possible to implement data from external sources to ease and simplify data entry.
